Windmill Kids Furniture

Windmill Kids Furniture started in 2008 from Sara & Jason’s double garage located at Bishopdale, Christchurch. Sara worked as a furniture buying agent for furniture outlets in NZ before she thought of starting her own furniture business. At that time, Sara noticed a lack of kids’ furniture on the market, especially the kind that could capture the essence of childhood: imagination, fun, and play. Amazed at the vibrant, colourful and imaginative rooms in her boys’ preschool homerooms, Sara was inspired to create such a space for the bedroom of her two boys (6 and 4 years old at the time) and all other children. 

Based on these concepts and passion, Windmill Kids was founded, hence the colourful Windmill Kids logo. The vision of Windmill Kids Furniture is to let the colourful Windmill fly into every child’s room in NZ, brightening each and every day.  Fun, functional, affordable, and imaginative are what we focus on when designing all of our lovely furniture.  

Soon after Windmill started to trade, Sara’s 2 boys were the first 2 lucky premium customers. They enjoyed a great room with racing car beds, then moved into train bunks when they were 10 & 8. Sara can still remember the day when her boys invited their friends to come to play in their room. At least 7 boys were in awe, and played on the train bunk excitedly. 

Windmill Kids continued to grow from Christchurch to Auckland, now with 2 showrooms in Auckland for customers to come to view and discuss what they need. We provide in-store free consultation and personal delivery and assembly service in Auckland. Additionally, we have a fabulous website for customers to easily browse and shop online. 

From room decors to awesome princess beds or car beds, Drylife beddings to study furniture, we have it all, plus more! We have a full range of NZ-made beds for customers to choose their desired sizes or colors.
